It’s All in the Numbers

Well, if the results on the scale at home weren’t enough to convince me I’m making progress in this getting healthy journey of mine, I now have additional numbers from my doctor too!

Part of TALO is to encourage us NOT to look at the numbers. But let’s face it, the numbers are EVERYWHERE! Even if we don’t step on the scale, we’ve got our jeans size, the number of holes on our belt…the ways we are reminded of our weight is an endless list.

But let’s look at the numbers for a minute, because in this case, they really do tell a tale.

02/04/2011:  165 lbs
02/22/2012:  144 lbs (-21 lbs)
04/12/2012:  141 lbs (-24 lbs)
06/02/2012:  135 lbs (-30 lbs)

But the REALLY exciting news is my cholesterol test results!!

Wow! This healthy eating and exercise stuff must work!

In this case, looking at the numbers was important, because it’s yet another indicator of me turning my health around. And cholesterol levels are so important for future health.

The biggest change however has to be in my confidence, and that can’t be measured in numbers.
