It’s been a year since I visited these pages. A lot has been going on, as it will in life. One of the things that’s happened is that I made a huge decision. Not YUUUUGE, but, you know, really fucking big.
I’ve decided to write a book.
There, I’ve said it. It’s a scary thing to say out loud, because then you have people checking on your progress (which may be nonexistent), and you’ve created expectations that there will eventually be a completed manuscript to show for all of your time & effort. One of my mottos is to have no expectations so that you can’t be disappointed, and I’d advise that frame of mind for this lil project of mine.
However, I need to be held accountable for this, or it will probably never reach completed status.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about what I want to write, specific things I want to say or ways I want to say them, but have yet to actually put anything to paper. Or word processor. I’ve taken a handful of classes on HOW to write a book, but it still seems a daunting task. Today, I bought software that will hopefully keep me writing, and keep those writings organized in a cohesive format, to eventually be tied together with a pretty bow.
I don’t think I’m going to post my writings here, but write about the process of writing, as a first-time attempted writer who has no idea what she’s embarking on. Hopefully, someone out there in the etherwebz will find that interesting subject matter.
So, the journey begins.
